self portrait and testing

This is a test while I make this website. I think a blog would be fun, but I need to figure out how I want to do it. When I post my art on social media, I'm usually careful not to ramble too much so this could be a good outlet for it. Obviously I wouldn't be sharing my deepest darkest thoughts with the world, but I think it'd be fun to document my art journey in a cleaner and more thorough way. I'm going to do a little research on blogs to see if it's for me :)

Anyway, this is a self-portrait, and although it isn't a perfect representation of what I actually look like, I'm really proud of how it turned out. I think it was a good way to execute the skills I've learned over the last couple of months. The yellow background is a nice callback to when all of my drawings had a warm, bright yellow or orange background. I think the purple contrasts with it nicely as a complementary colour. Next time I'd like to focus more on my real-life facial features to make it resemble me a bit more. I think I should also try to experiment a little more with the textures of different clothing. Other than that, happy with it for now!

Today I made a load of progress on the website, like uploading my original art and sketches, and uploading episode 1 of See You Tomorrow.
